Frequently Asked Questions
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 14 I began putting my body through a huge transformation. I was an extremely scrawny and underweight kid. I started with learning the fundamentals and over the course of the next 7 years I was able to completely change my body into the strongest, leanest, and most muscular it had ever been. There was a lot of trial and error along the way. I fell in love with the process and earned a degree in Exercise Science and a certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I used everything that I had learned and experienced to help one of my good friends to lose over 100 lbs. I'm grateful to have found a passion where I get to inspire people and change their lives for the better!
What is your typical process for working with a new client?
First, I'll want to get to know you, your lifestyle, your goals, and what obstacles have kept you from being where you'd like to be. Then, if I'm positive that I can help you, and if we're a perfect fit to go on this fitness journey together, I will begin creating your training program based on your goals and lifestyle. You have the options of online personal training or in-person training.
What types of clients have you worked with?
I have worked with everyone ranging from high school kids, to college athletes, to professional athletes, to the 9-5er with 3 kids, to senior citizens. My vast range of clientele has given me a great understanding of many different body types and has given me the ability to use a wide range of training techniques with my clients. My specialties over the years have been fat loss, muscle gain, and core work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My degree is in Exercise Science & Sport Studies from Rutgers University and I am certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I also have 7 years of experience working with a variety of clientele.
What questions should clients think through before talking to a professional about their personal training?
Ask trainers about their qualifications and make sure they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to be dealing with your body. Ask a potential trainer what their plan of action would be to get you to your goals, and make sure it is a clear one.
What advice would you give a potential client looking to hire a trainer in your area of work?
A great trainer can be described as a teacher with patience who listens to you and your body, and creates a program specific to your goals and needs.
